Athens, Greece

interior remodel | completed in 2024

This Athens apartment renovation reimagines a 110 square meter home (1,110 square feet) that had remained a construction site for nearly a decade due to the client’s financial constraints. The project approached completion with care and restraint, focusing on essential interventions that would finally allow the apartment to be fully inhabited, while setting a clear foundation for future upgrades.

The existing layout was reconfigured to create a continuous flow between the living, dining, and kitchen areas. The removal of the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room transformed the heart of the home into a single, connected sequence, supporting both daily routines and moments of gathering. To further enhance light and openness, the existing balcony door was enlarged from a three-foot opening to a six-foot-wide sliding glass door, strengthening the relationship between interior space and the exterior.

In recognition of budget limitations and future planning, the existing window systems were carefully retained, allowing for a later phase of upgrades without compromising the integrity of the current renovation.

The result is a quietly resolved home, one shaped by patience, necessity, and intention, where light, openness, and modest means come together to support everyday life with dignity and ease.
